Fagor Industrial and the Gipuzkoa Hotel Trade come together to create a centre of innovation and training in San Sebastián

San Sebastián, 12 April 2019 – Fagor Industrial, leading manufacturer of equipment for the hotel, restaurant and laundry trade, has signed an agreement with the Gipuzkoa Hotel Trade Entrepreneurs Association to create a centre of training and innovation at the headquarters of the hotel trade entity in San Sebastián.

With the objective of training the hotel trade professionals associated to the entity, the Association has counted on Fagor Industrial for the installation of a training centre with latest-generation industrial equipment at its headquarters. The centre will allow both organisations to make the latest advances in the equipment that the company Fagor Industrial is launching onto to the market known to the hotel trade professionals of Gipuzkoa. Hostelería Gipuzkoa has always been committed to continuous training in the sector, and in an ever more technicised world, the commitment of both entities to technological innovation is firm, as the signing of the present collaboration agreement shows. As such, Fagor Industrial becomes the main sponsor of the Gipuzkoa Hotel Trade Entrepreneurs Association, for a period of 5 years.

As well as contributing to the professional training and retraining of the associates, the signing of the agreement will allow both entities jointly to showcase the Gipuzkoan model of haute-cuisine restaurants and Gastronomy 4.0 to the world. In doing so, they will take advantage of the fact that Fagor Industrial is one of the five main companies in Europe, and that the Gipuzkoa Hotel Trade Entrepreneurs Association is leader, in so far as tourist destination, innovation, talent management and Gastronomy 4.0 positioning is concerned.

The signing of the collaboration agreement forms part of the Gastronomy 4.0 programme, launched by the Regional Council of Gipuzkoa Department of Economic Promotion in the middle of the 2018 financial year. A pioneering program at a national level for the promotion and socialisation of the technology in the sector.
